More than half a million of the poorest Americans are at risk of losing vital nutrition assistance in the next few months, due to a little known provision in the food stamps program that will cause jobless workers to lose assistance while they look for work. Ed Bolen of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and Lisa Hamler-Fugitt of the Ohio Association of Food Banks join us to discuss what’s happening and what states are doing to fight back. Later in the episode, we are joined by Lisa Hamilton of the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Ezra Levin of the Corporation for Enterprise Development to discuss the racial wealth gap.
